Typhoon Washes Soccer from HG Calendar.
Kanda University Sun 8th October 2006. A strong typhoon that brought days of rain, did enough damage to cause the Footy 7's & 6's to be cancelled. This year both tournaments had been relegated to the dirt pitch at KUIS, due to more space being required for childrens games. With a constant barrage of rain on the preceding Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, the pitch was a muddy quagmire and a decision to cancel had to be made. Of course after the cancellation, 'Sod's Law' kicked in and it was sunny all weekend and the Scottish Games themselves went ahead, albeit in gale force winds that flattened tents & sent up dust clouds. Hopefully by next year, KUIS will have an artificial pitch so cancellation won't come into the equation. To make up for the missed 7's, Footy Japan has decided to organize a New Years 7's on the beautiful new turf pitch at Oi Futo on January 7th. For all the info click here.

24th Japan Scottish Highland Games to kick off Early.
This year the Highland Games will be held on Sunday October 8th, 3 weeks earlier than most years. It will again be held at the Kanda University of International Studies in Makuhari after last years very successful event there. Again this year we are planning to have a 7-a-side main event and 6-a-side masters football tournament alongside all the Scottish traditional sports. - Teams: Main 7's tourney - On-field will use 7 players incl GK. Up to 4 players may sub on and off multiple times
Masters - On-field will use 7 players incl GK. Up to 4 players may sub on and off multiple times
- Format: League followed by knockout matches. (To be determined)
